Recording rainfall

Tap any date on the calendar and enter the millimetres your gauge caught. Tap Today's reading at the top for today without hunting for the date.

A dry day is worth recording. Entering 0mm means you checked the gauge and it was empty — which is different from not having checked. It counts as a recorded day but not as a rain day.

Several rain gauges

Open Settings (the gear, top right) and add a gauge under Rain gauges. Once you have more than one, use the Rain gauge button on the main screen to choose which one the figures describe, and which one a new reading goes to.

An Every gauge panel appears, comparing them over a day, week, month or year. Gauges are averaged, not added — they are all catching the same weather from different spots, so adding them would report several times the rain that actually fell.

Several properties

Add them under Properties in Settings. Each property keeps its own gauges and its own records, and one property's rain never counts toward another's totals.

Bringing in old records

Settings → Import from CSV. A spreadsheet with one row per day works, in any of these shapes:

Dates can be written 22/02/2026, 22-2-26 or 2026-02-22. Where day-and-month order is ambiguous the app works it out from the whole file and tells you which way it read them before anything is saved. Check that line — it is there so a misread gets caught before it becomes your record.

Backing up

Settings → Export to CSV writes every reading and opens the share sheet, so you can email it to yourself or save it to a cloud drive. Import reads the same file back, which is also how you move your records to a new phone.

Your records live only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them, so keep an export somewhere if they matter to you.
